Award: Up to $9,338 per year
Minimum Academic Requirements: 2.75 cumulative high school GPA or a 21 ACT/990 SAT
Other Required Documentation: Submission of enrollment deposit on or before December 31, 2014 or submission of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students that submit an enrollment deposit on or after January 1, 2015.
This variable award provides a scholarship up to the cost of UT’s out-of-state surcharge (estimated at $9,338) for students outside of Ohio and Monroe County, Mich., who are admissible to the University. This award is renewable for up to 8 semesters. In addition to the out-of-state award, eligible students can receive the scholarship amounts on the scholarship grid based on their cumulative high school GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and strength of curriculum.
To be considered for the Out-of-State Award:
If an academically qualified student (2.75 cumulative high school GPA or a 21 ACT/990 SAT) submits an enrollment deposit prior to December 31, 2014 at 11:59 pm (EST) the student will be eligible to receive the Out-Of-State Award valued at the full amount of the Out-Of-State surcharge ($9,338).
Effective January 1, 2015, students who meet the minimum academic requirements of a 2.75 cumulative high school GPA or a 21 ACT/990 SAT will be eligible to receive a minimum Out-Of-State Award of $5,000. These students could earn up to the remainder of the value of the Out-Of-State surcharge based on their financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Renewal criteria includes maintaining a 2.75 cumulative GPA and earning 27 UT credit hours within two semesters of the academic year. For students who do not meet these requirements, UT maintains an appeal process detailed in the full terms and conditions. Students may be required to submit the FAFSA each year.
